Make Your Home a Haven

This weeks challenge is to play music in your house and to be calmer with your family. I didn't use to be an angry person! But it seems the busier our life gets or the more people that we come in contact with the angrier I become. I don't want to be like that, and I also don't want to be known as that angry woman! So I have been trying to stay calm and pray every time I feel that resentment or anger rising up.

We only listen to Christian music around our house, so I have been singing along with the music all morning and praising God! It feels so good to know that I am getting things done and ministering to God while I am doing it! Our Secret Sister Meeting was about not being a "Nagging Old Bag!" Which fits right along with making our home a haven and not being angry, mean, hateful, or even decieving.

So go turn on some music, make sure the volume isn't too loud, that way you can still talk to your husband or kids. Get some things done around the house, that way it is a haven for your husband to come home too after a long day of work! My husband won't be home for another week, but I am trying to get as much done as I can, so that he won't have to do those things when he gets home. I think our husbands need just as much rest as we do, and often times they are put to work the minute they open the door. Give them some time to unwind and relax today!

  2. Thanks for folowing! I know that he likes to come home to a nice relaxing home, so I try to make it that way. Plus it gives me things to do while he is gone. He works away from the house for 2 weeks and then is home for 2 weeks, so when he is gone it is a LONG 2 weeks! Thanks again for stopping by!

I, too, am doing Courtney's challenge this month. Music is a beautiful way to set the mood of the home and coupling that with the continuance of lighting our candles fills it with sweet aroma and sounds that invite peace to dwell there.

Good reminders about not nagging and husbands needing rest, too. They are the ones that typically 'go into the world' each day, so a haven to come home to is such a blessing.

Blessings and peace this week ~
