Women In The Word Wednesday!

This morning we were to read Luke 15. In the first part of Luke 15, Jesus is being criticized because he eats with publicans and sinners. He then rebukes, by giving them the example of if one of them lost a sheep would they go in search of it.

If we loose something little we look for it. We will turn the house upside down looking and searching and when we don't find the item we are looking for, we clean the house spotless. Jesus also gives the example of the woman who lost a coin and lit her candle in order to sweep her floors to find it.

Our group of girls were suppose to "Let our Lights shine for God" this month. To me a relationship with Christ is so much more important than any worldly object. We should light our candles daily, sweep out the dirt of the world, and seek the presence of God.

When a sinner repents and turns their life over to God, Heaven rejoices! We should give Heaven the chance to rejoice daily! We should strive to live like Christ daily!

"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." Luke 15:7

  2. Hi Angela. Our group consists of 17 women for our Secret Sister group, but for the messages we send we have quite a few of our husbands that felt left out. The first lesson we received baskets to put our quite time material, and the second meeting we received a candle to light daily as we read God's Word. We are to then share the "light" with others that we come into contact with. Before I found the GMG's I found it really hard to find the time and desire to read the Bible, but now it is exciting to read and learn and then hear what others got from the same chapter! Not everyone participates in the text messages, but we try to call them every could of days to encourage them also. Thank y'all so much for listening to Gods calling in your lives!
